Job Description

Responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

Under general direction, performs high-level systems analysis, evaluation, design, integration, documentation, and implementation of very complex application that require a thorough knowledge of administrative, and technical skills in support of Security Event Management Services.Directs and participates in all phases of system development with emphasis on planning, analysis, evaluation, integration, testing and acceptance phases (IV&V and DT&E).Applies higher-level business or technical principles and methods to very difficult technical problems to arrive at automated engineering solution.Designs and prepares technical reports and related documentation, and makes charts and graphs to record results.

Prepare and deliver presentations and briefings as required.May be required to serve as Task Leader.Responsible for ensuring the quality and services delivered for particular task(s) for which this skill is performing the Task Leader position.Evaluate communication hardware and software, troubleshoot LAN/MAN/CAN/WAN and other network-related problems, and provide technical expertise for performance and configuration of networks.

Perform general LAN/MAN/CAN/WAN administration, and provide technical leadership in the integration and testing of complex large-scale computer integrated networks.Schedule conversions and cutovers.Oversee network control center.

Supervise maintenance of network-based systems.Coordinate with all responsible users and sites.Prepare and present systems-level reports as required

1. Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

6. May perform network administration duties.

7. May provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced network personnel.

8. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

9. Participates in special projects as required.

Education

Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Must meet DoD 8570 IAT-IICND Analystrequirements with Professional Certifications:
CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE or SSCP; CCNP or CCNA

Qualifications

5-8 years of directly related experience in network analysis and administration.
